thinking design:
photography or illustration,
which is the bigger draw?
Debate about the relative strengths of photography and illustration for supporting commercial messages is as old as cameras themselves.
Today, when anyone can take a photo (and retouch it) on a mobile phone and send it around the world, photographs have become ephemeral. We rarely view them as more than snapshots.
But drawings retain their magic. They have personality, we recognise and become fond of styles and still admire their artistry, qualities that can work well for companies and brands. Most importantly we still read them for their messages - they still communicate.

reports:
clear reporting
Our
track record in annual reports led to our appointment in 2005 by the Belhaven
Group plc. Scotland’s leading independent brewer, who also run a large
chain of pubs and a drinks distribution division, wanted a report that would
highlight yet another excellent year for them but would also reflect their
professionalism and commitment at a time of great challenge to the industry
in Scotland. They were delighted with the result.
If you have an annual report project coming up, we would love to hear from you, please call Graham on 0131 554 4441.

web: hard working websites
Also
hard at work, are Streetwork, Edinburgh’s city-centre crisis support charity
and McKinstrie Wilde have recently completed an upgrade of their website.
We’ve designed the site to attract two distinct audiences; the young people directly involved in Streetwork projects and potential donors. The site has a Content Management System so that Streetwork staff can handle updates and an ecommerce section for donations.
To learn more about web development, Content Management Sytems, or ecommerce sytems, please call Neil on 0131 554 4441.
