introduction:
another year rolls by!

Welcome to the second and, on this occasion, festive edition of our newsletter. We have enjoyed another great year with yet more companies making the inspired decision of appointing us as their design consultants – the latest is detailed in this newsletter. We are looking forward to 2006 with optimism and trust that you are doing the same.
competition:
december 2005

Another collectable McKinstrie Wilde pen is up for grabs if you can figure this out!!

Designer Raymond Cusick's greatest creation came in 1963 as he moved a salt pot around the staff canteen table. What was it?

All correct replies received by Jan 6th will be put into a hat for a lucky winner to be drawn.

thinking design:
christmas project research -
Past, presents ideas for the future

The flurry of good-natured communication that comes once a year with the festive season stimulates a bout of research whether it's a card or a calendar that is required.

This year uncovered answers to why Santa uses the chimney, why ducks are an essential part of Korean weddings and who the Maoris believe was the first human being!

Not all the facts we discovered were of relevance to seasonal projects we were working on but many will surface some time in 2006. If anybody has the right project to talk about the origins of the nine-bob note please get in touch.

Napiers Herbal Health Care catalogue
Napiers Herbal Health Care recently asked us to re-design their mail order catalogue. This was shortly after they had acquired Culpeppers of London who specialise in plant-based bath, body care and home products. Careful thought went into the design to ensure that the whole new range was really well presented to both existing and potential customers. We are pleased to hear that already sales levels are up on last year and the catalogue has attracted many favourable comments.

clearly, a job well done

Gleneagles of EdinburghWe were delighted when Gleneagles of Edinburgh asked us to design a series of adverts for them. Gleneagles' product range is enormous and includes lead crystal, figurines and keepsakes. Apart from individual ads on specific product lines we also were tasked with designing a composite ad that illustrated the whole range - once again we rose to the challenge, and our client is extremely pleased with the results.

web:
on track for success

Megatrain - on track for successStagecoach have commissioned us again to help reproduce the success of megabus.com, which we designed, with the launch of their budget train service, megatrain.com.

The original successful design elements and structure of megabus have been faithfully reproduced for this pilot concept at South West Trains, the UK's biggest rail franchise, on the Portsmouth-London and Southampton-London routes.

Brian Souter, Chief Executive of Stagecoach Group, said: "megabus.com has caught the imagination of the travelling public and is now extremely popular and successful. We hope the megatrain.com pilot scheme will enjoy similar success".
