When we think of fashion the first thing that comes to mind is clothing, but really the word fashion is a term that relates to anything that is currently in style, which basically means what is popular. This is of course a fitting term for the clothing industry as the trends change almost every season and so what is popular or fashionable changes. So fashion must stay fashionable.
Fashion does change or perhaps develop as the seasons change but there are some items in your wardrobe that will never go out of style. If you have any gemstones this is certainly a good place to start.
As the seasons change what you really need from your clothes changes – in winter you need warmth and to look good whereas in summer you really only need to be covered. You will in all likelihood shop for some new items at the beginning of summer and winter, well really who needs an excuse to shop.
But when you are shopping you need to think carefully. The less expensive items you can just wear for a season but if you are going to really spend then you want it to be on something that is going to last.
This isn't as difficult as it sounds. There are some things that never go out of style - a classic, gorgeous little black dress or a well crafted leather handbag.
